Pile Cap Shutters

A pile cap shutter, as mentioned earlier, is a temporary formwork system used during the construction of pile caps. Pile caps are thick concrete mats that are placed on top of groups of piles to distribute the load from columns or walls to the piles below. The pile cap shutter is assembled around the pile heads to contain the poured concrete and shape it into the desired form. It also supports the reinforcing steel bars (rebar) within the pile cap. Once the concrete has cured and gained sufficient strength, the shutter is removed.
